The cravings and the dark thoughts almost always come louder at night. There is a reason the old life knew to wait until you were alone and tired. But the night has an expiration date that your feelings will not tell you about.
Weeping may endure for a night, the Scripture says — but joy cometh in the morning. The word is not ‘might.’ It is ‘cometh.’ Morning is on its way to you whether you can feel it or not. Your only job in the dark is to hold on until it arrives, and you do not have to hold on alone.
Call your accountability partner. Open the Word. Say the name of the Lord out loud. The night is not the end of the story. It is the part right before morning.
“Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.”— Psalm 30:5
