This is the hardest thing a person in recovery does, and the most freeing. The same prayer Jesus prayed in His darkest hour is the one that sets a bound life loose: not my will, but Thine. It is short. It is honest. And it can be prayed before a single circumstance has changed.
You are not surrendering to a hard master. You are surrendering to the One who has wanted to carry this for you the whole time.
