Why You Cannot Fix Yourself

You have probably already tried harder than anyone gives you credit for. You have made promises, set rules, thrown things out, started over on a Monday. And the ceiling came down anyway. That is not because you are uniquely broken. It is because willpower was never built to do the job you have been asking it to do.

The Scripture names the real problem, and it is not weakness, illness, or even the wounds done to you — though all of those are real. It names the flesh: the nature that runs a life lived outside of God’s governance. A problem at that level cannot be out-disciplined. It has to be answered by Someone stronger than it.

That is not bad news. It is the doorway. The same God who has been reaching toward His people from the very beginning is reaching toward you now — and He has never once been stopped by how far gone a person was.

“Without me ye can do nothing.”— John 15:5

You don't have to walk this out alone.

Refined Recovery Network is a faith-based peer recovery ministry — worship radio, discipleship, workforce help, and people who will walk with you.
